Best decision I made for my wedding was....

to take pics before the ceremony. If anyone is considering it- DO IT!!!!!!!! It DID NOT take away the 'moment' when i walked down the aisle as a matter of fact, i didnt cry at all when i first saw DH or any time that day EXCEPT for when i came down the aisle. Every emotion i ever thought i would feel i still did and it took the edge off those few mins before b/c you get SO nervous before and.... well i just wanted to share my experience w/ you! It was SOOOO romantic!

I am second that!!! It was the BEST thing to do. I got to see my DH and spend some amazingly special time with our bridal party as well.

It didn't take away from the moment of seeng him at the end of that aisle. It was great to do.

I did it too and it really was great. It was such a special moment having just DH and I (and the cameras of course) seeing each other for the first time. It was really emotional for me. But I'm glad I got that out of the way so that I wasn't too emotional for the ceremony. I didn't want to cry and I wanted to say my vows loud and clear. I was able to because I was more relaxed. Plus, pictures are so important to me. It was nice getting them done before the ceremony so I could just relax at the CH and reception and know that the only pics taken there were candid shots.

Yup, totally agree! Except we both cried A LOT when we first saw eachother. We teared up at the ceremony too. We are both happy that we saw eachother before for pics... what a way to start the day!

Because my whole wedding from ceremony to end of Reception is 4 1/2 hours long we are taking pics b4. I'm glad to hear it didn't take away from the moment bc that is what I feared the most.

thanks for posting that! FH and i just recently made the decision to do this...cause we have 11 a.m. ceremony, 12 pm CH and 1 p.m. reception...all back to back! so after months and months of battling it back and forth---i finally caved in and agreed to do pics before! i know it wil be worth it. all of my friends and family think it's crazy!!! but i told them, 'hey, i only get married once and i don't want to try and cram all the best shots in just 1 hr. during the CH! i want to enjoy the entire day!'

Now I dont know what to do. We were going to take pics before ceremony but then when the videographer said well lemme know b/c i wanna capture that first moment you both see eachother, I was like FORGET IT NO WAY I want that moment at the ceremony.
Now with these couple of posts maybe we will...Ughh I dont know!

Thanks for your post. This was actually one of the first decisions we made after we got engaged and saw it in a book. we want to enjoy CH and we don't want to hold our BP 'hostage' during CH to squeeze in pics.

Let us know if you have any more great tips!

Re: Best decision I made for my wedding was....

Thank you so much for posting this. I was pretty convinced that taking our photos before the ceremony was the right thing to do, but my FH started doubting my decision because he thought it would take away from the 'initial moment' we lay eyes on each other. I feel so much better knowing that it doesn't take away from our day or our excitement when we walk down the aisle (although I still think I'll be crying like a baby when I see him both times).

Re: Best decision I made for my wedding was....

Thank you so much for posting this. FH and I decided to do this the second we booked the hall. My Ceremony is not until 7:00pm, so we are taking pics before.

I am not missing 1 second of that day if I can help it

I agree Im a old fashion kinda of girl I want him to be left wondering and waiting until the last minute and there's nothing like see him that day for the first time when I walk down that ailse to say I do.
