So we told her that since she wasnt in the wedding well neither can her daughter...our flowergirl.
It would have been a HUGE hassel and also uncomfortable....for me at least...
I am sad, that my best friend of 23 years decides to not be part of my special day...but I have to do what is best.
Am i wrong...I dunno.
No one in the BP knows the baby....and God only knows that she may not listen to anyone but her mom...
So we thought it would be best to just take her out.
I am a lil sad...but what can you do???

Re: Best friend drops out of wedding saga...
she said she wasnt able to pay for the dress...its 190 bucks... she just spent 300 bucks on an unnecessary gift for a friend...
Her priorities are all mixed up...

Re: Best friend drops out of wedding saga...
I think you made the right decision about the flower girl. You don't need an extra thing to think about, and with your feelings towards her mom y ou'll just have some resentment on y our day and you don't need that...

How did your friend react when you told her?

Re: Best friend drops out of wedding saga...
There may be other issues involved here, but if she dropped out because of $, it may not just be the $190 dress. Her DD was also in the wedding, so that's more $ there (her dress, shoes, etc etc, plus her daughter's) PLUS the BM costs. So even though she spent $300 on a gift for someone else, she may not have another $500-1000+ to spend as a BM.
I'm sorry you're in this situation!

Re: Best friend drops out of wedding saga...
i would have done the same thing. thats one of the reasons im not having kids in the wedding. i love kids to death but i dont want to be responsible or ask anyone else in BP to be especially during pics.
