best hall for russian weddings

A co-worker just got engaged and is looking for a hall. I've got no clue what's different about russian weddings but... can you ladies advise?

I dont know where she is located but in Sheepshead Bay there is an AMAZING hall that is owned by Russians. Its called Baku Palace.

I've heard that Grand Prospect Hall in Brooklyn is good for Eastern European themed receptions and ceremonies. They have many rooms to choose from and their ballroom looks beautiful.

I live in Sheepshead Bay and there are quite a few Russian halls here. I've heard good things about Baku (it's on Emmons Ave., about 10 blocks from Roll n' Roaster, if that gives you your bearings!). There are also a few I pass by every day on Coney Island Ave., near Ave. Y and Z - Metropole is one, and Rasputin is another. Don't know anything about them - I've only seen them from the outside.

It really all depends on what she is looking for. I am Russian and I am having my wedding in Manhattan, at a non-Russian venue, so if she wants to have a 'Russian wedding' with Russian food and music then she should have it at a Russian restuarant. Here are a few:

Metrople
Rasputin
Tatyanna
Baku Palace
National
Imperator
Passage
Orion Palace
Chinar
Astoria

If she doesnt want to go the russian resturant route, i wouldnt blame her, then there is grand prospect hall which caters to russian weddings and a few places on long island i know have a russian menu like jericho terrace.

Yup they do

Alot of places cater to russian weddings on long island so ask her what is she looking for. I knew when i got engaged i was not having it at a russian resturant because i dont like them and ive been forced to go to all of them way too many times than i can count for parties so im tired of them. So if she wants a 'hall' theres a bunch of them to chose from. She just needs to do her research or ask me

Oh yeah definitly similar cultures. My FH was born in Moldova and came here when he was a baby but Moldova used to be part of romania back in the day so they are very close on the map.
