Please help. I'm getting married in 10 days and still don't have a makeup artist. Since I might have to do my own makeup, as a back I need to purchase some cosmetics.
Your makeup artist may recommend a certain brand, but does anyone really know what the best makeup up is for wedding pictures?
If the brand you suggest is not on the poll please let me know the brand. thanks

I love clinique since my SIL introduced it to me. I do the 3 step regimen on my face for cleanser and mositurizer and there was a difference in less than 3 days of my complexion!!! Not to mention their make up looks beautiful on me!!!
ETA: And I DON'T WEAR MAKE UP!!!!!!!!

I like bare essentials... There is one in Roosevelt Field mall... it has good coverage and its NOT heavy at all.
I never wore make up and now I don't leave home without it!

My sister got her makeup done for her sweet 16 at MAC and it did look amazing.. however it isn't free.. they require a 45 minimum purchase.. i would agree with the person who posted before me.. try bare essentials.. they do it for free and its a lot better for your face.

Today I went to MAC at Macy's in NYC and asked for whomever did wedding makeup (mind you most of the makeup artist looked very hardrock/punk makeup'd). The 'best' makeup artist wasn't avail. that day and recommended his assistant.
She spent a long time meticulously making me up. The makeup was nice, but not great. My eyeshadow was way to dark and goth-like. I don't usually wear makeup and told her so. Yes, she did a very good job evening my skin tone and highlighting my cheekbones.
I asked random people (and my FH) what they honestly thought of my makeup and not one person really liked it. Well the makeup artist (who supposedly does models, photo shoots, and brides) told me she charges $300 day of for bride and $75 for BM's with 3 BM minimum (hello.... I only have 3 BM's and one does her own thing). Why should I pay 4 times what the BM's pay ($75x4=$300).... yes, i did the math.
And she lives in Queens no less, only 10 minutes to where I live. And that's why I made this posting. I'm soooooo frustraaaaattttedddddd.... helpppppp calgon take me awaaaaaayyyyyyyyy! [For all of you youngster's that's a reference to an old soap bubble bath commercial. ]

Re: BEST MAKEUP TO BUY
I use to do makeup for weddings, so I just wanted to give some advice on it. I also love Clinique, however, for long term use (such as a wedding), I wouldn't recommend it. Clinique's powders are not milled as much as a product like Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Dior or Stila. So it is great for everyday use, but not for the wedding.
For those of you scratching your head at milled ( i scratched my head over this also) It means that the powder isn't as fine, so the granuals are larger, allowing the makeup to not stay on as well. I hope this helps!

Re: BEST MAKEUP TO BUY
What about Sephora? THey have all the brands (not sure about MAC)
Personally, not a fan of MAC, esp if you don't normally wear alot of makeup..
I don't understand the pricing either... JMO i think 300 is insane!!

Re: BEST MAKEUP TO BUY
I'm apparently in the minority but I love Stila - they make makeup fun and they put everything in these cute little cases. I have the cutest little flip -back compact thing that has three colors on it and it tells you which color to use first and where.....
