I know it's impossible to know exactly what the weather will be like on your wedding day...but does anyone have any ideas of what month has the least amount of rain, yet is not 100 degree weather 90% of the time? I was thinking June, but this summer was AWFUL!!!! It rained almost the entire summer. September seems nice, but I am worried about hurricanes....lol I wonder if there are any websites that have average rainfalls per month for Long Island? I couldn't find anything on weather.com PS: with my luck, i could pick the statistically DRIEST day of the yr and still get rain....but i'm still curious!

Re: Best months....weather-wise?
My guess would be that April has a lot of rain.. Hence the April showers bring may flowers thing... March usually has a lot of Rain and Snow too... EEek.. I dunno.. Check out the Farmers Almanac!!

You could check the weather channel or travel guides for average weather statistics.
You can never tell weather wise but I think early fall usually has the mildest weather.
One of my friends had her engagement party the ONLY day it snowed that year.

I hate cold weather, so I got married in September, the beginning. I think September is a wonderful month to be married in. I had perfect weather.
This is peak time so you will pay more at alot of places.

I would guess July - you could go to Farmer's Almanac online and check out past years to see what the pattern was. While weather can go in any direction, I always seem to feel that July is the perfect month - weather-wise.

I'd say the end of May, June and September.

Re: Best months....weather-wise?
I think September is beautiful, especially the beginning of the month. My b-day is the first week of June and I always remember that most times around my b-day isn't the greatest of weather. I think the weather on LI really becomes nice late June through September. Although, it can obviously be extremely hot & humid during the summer.
July and August run the risk of heatwaves...we almost booked 7/4 for last year and when there was a disgusting heatwave we were relieved...
i think October is typically the dryest month...but last year it was very wet...

september! Click on averages on www.weather.com and it will tell you the rain and temps. If I remember correctly, September had the lowest precipitation. May has a lot.

Re: Best months....weather-wise?
I went on weather.com and saw that September has the lowest average amount of precipitation... From everyone's responses, it looks like end of Aug-early Sept. are nice. my soon-to-be fiance and I haven't set an exact date yet. It's so hard to just pull a date out of nowhere!!!! I guess ya just have to be lucky!

If I may offer a piece of advice. The weather is one the thing you can't control on you wedding day. Don't stress over it. We picked the end of May because we figured it would be starting to get warm and all the April showers will be gone. What did we get? Rain all morning and 55 degree temp.
