I need to get my hair blownout, and I was wondering if any of you have recommendations for salons in Nassau County? I have very fine hair, but it looks thick because it's so long and curly. (Obviously the pic in my profile is after I had a blowout!) I usually go to Maximus, but I always end up spending too much money when I go there! Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I used to go to Solo but then they relocated to ID in Syosset. I haven't gone to the new place yet but they always charged $46 for a haircut. They are great hairdressers.

I have been going to Nubest & Co. in Manhasset for the past 15 years - highly recommend it!!!

Suzanne!! I'm with you about Maximus!! You can walk in with the fugliest hair and walk out with beautiful pin straight shiny hair there!

Jill- I can recommend my stylist b/c I LOVE her blow outs but she speaks MINIMAL english. her name is Leiny and I recommended her to Lizlen2003 and Latina511 who now go to her regularly. Good Luck.

Try Anthony Cole in Bellmore on Merrick Rd. Michael or Vivian charge $20 for a blow-out or $35 if you get it cut too. VERY reasonable and a nice salon!

I would recommend Nubest in Manhasset also. However, I believe that it will be more than Maximus. Michael is the owner and the one who cuts my hair. He is actually the creator of Artec, those color-depositing shampoos that you see all over. I don't know how much a blow-out is, but a cut is $75.
