Re: Best place to shop for mattress???
We got ours from Sleepy's...BUT ...........
You can definately haggle. The price they have listed is not what you have to pay. We went in to the Sleepys near Roosevelt Field on Glen Cove Road. We looked around and picked out what we wanted. We had some ads from Rockaway Bedding and Sleepy's from the Sunday news. The saleman explained some things and we were there for a while. We said 'Ok we will be back..we are going to visit Rocakway Bedding to compare'... Magically...he called them them to find out what mattress was comparable because each store will have a different name for a similar mattress. Well..Rockaway Beddings price was less and they took some money off of that price.
You can play this price game with the 1-800-mattres people too!
Hope this helps!

Re: Best place to shop for mattress???
I ordered mine through the telephone after visiting the stores and finding the type we liked. We got Sleepy's to beat the 1-800-Matress price and it was so much easier to haggle over the phone.

Re: Best place to shop for mattress???
So...you went to Sleepy's, found what you liked. Called 1800Mattres, got a price from them and then called the Sleepys store directly and bought it that way? Thats would be great. I don't want to go from store to store for days. Thanks!!!

Re: Best place to shop for mattress???
Go to Sleepy's and see what type of mattress you want, then price it out. Call up Sleepy's direct, and tell them that you saw a certain bed for such and such price, and they will give you a great price. They beat 1800- mattres. We got a king size bed for $800, and it was listed for $1200 in the store

Re: Best place to shop for mattress???
we ordered ours from rockaway i believe. definitely haggle. they cut the price by several hundred dollars. we thought sleepy's was overpriced when we were shopping around, but the service was the best.
