Best Way To Block Hotel Rooms

Best Way To Block Hotel Rooms

Hey Everyone

I'm trying to figure out what the best way is to figure out which hotel you want to book rooms with. Should you go see a bunch of hotels or can you just make a bunch of phone calls? Also, when you block rooms, how should you estimate how many to block? Are there penalties if all the rooms you block don't end up getting booked?

Hey we booked with the homewood suites for a few reasons.

The time that we are getting married seems to be a very expensive time so most places ie the marriot and sheraton four points (all within decent driving to the rh) wanted 3-600 for a suite and 2-400 for a room for the night..

I CAN NOT justify spending THAT much on a basic room.

We had to 'promise' a certain amount of rooms for each night to get the blocked pricing.,

we are getting our suites at a killer price.

Maureen is super nice to work with.

Good luck with it all!!!

I searched for hotels w/i a certain amount of miles from my reception hall, and made calls

Another way is to go to Hotels.com - you could search w/i an area - and will give reviews and pics

With the hotels I dealt w/ - there was a limit of the amount I could block b4 I would have to put down a deposit...so I opted out - just booking the max amount. And they said once they start to fill, I could just add more, so it works out.

WOA - I chose a higher end, middle, and budget - so everyone has options

Good luck!

WOW!!! Thanks so much. I Just sent them an e-mail and hopefully I'll hear back soon. I'm fearing that this is going to be pretty pricey, as I'm getting married on Labor Day weekend.

i actually went through my reception hall. They use a few hotels in the area - one which included free shuttle service to & from the reception & breakfast in the morning...they offered an amazing price. I'd call ur RH and ask if they deal with, or can reccomend anything close by

oh, & i dont know if EVERY hotel does it this way, but they let us block a max of 30 rooms at the beginning....once those booked up, they would release another 15(and so on)...there was no penalty for unbooked rooms but i did tell me guests to book asap, that way if needed we could release more rooms. Good luck!
