Best way to cancel a vendor? Edited with next question.

I'm soooo torn with going back and forth with this one vendor I booked and I really think I want the other one that I didn't book (because the other one is much more $$, but obvi SO talented...)

Ahhh.

And what do I do if the vendor I want to cancel is close with another vendor I'm still booking/keeping/really like?? They wouldn't care, right?

Haha, I know, it's code, but the vendors are all over this site, so you never know!

ETA: My next big question is: Will the other vendor who's close with the one I'm cancelling be weird? I know it's sort of a retorical question, it's just what's in my head... I'll send this person I'm canceling a certified letter of 'regret..' oy.

You should call, to give them the heads up and then send a certified letter notifiying of your cancellation.

I'm the sure the vendor is going to try to lower the price and work with you....or for all you know get nasty. Rip it off like a band aid and get it over with.

Tell them you've made your decision and thank them for their time. Then send the letter.

Okay - thank you so much. It's not the current vendor's price - it's her attitude and people's other reviews of her. Apparently she's really good up until the wedding day and then, boom, she does a 180. :(

Ugh...I hate this. haha

I canceled my hair/makeup person 2 months before my wedding because she was VERY unresponsive and unaccommodating. I tried 4 times to schedule a hair trial with her and she rarely responded, and when she did she wasn't very flexible.

So even though she came with rave reviews, I wasn't interested in that attitude. So I sent her an email basically saying that after trying time and time again to get in touch, I decided it wasn't working out and that I would no longer need her services for my wedding.

She responded RIGHT AWAY saying she had been out of town and had no access to email. Whatever. Too little too late.

I learned that it's up to us customers to stop bad behaviour. We do nothing, then the vendors have no incentive to do better.

Business is business. If they are professional professionalism(sp?) should prevail

Exactly. I cancelled my hair and makeup person a few months before my wedding. It wasn't a big deal. Call them, then send a certified letter so they have the cancellation in writing. Good luck!

Thanks so much ladies!! I just know I'll be WORRYFREE with the other vendor.
