mlsli.com is good for some basic info.
Newsday has some really good info about schools and environmental hazards. It's scary actually--almost anyplace you click on LI is contaminated according to that site. http://www.newsday.com/business/realestate/
I'm still looking for something that gives me quick, easy info on school districts. Realtors keep telling us this or that district is rated number 1 in Nassau County, however I can't find anything that ranks the districts. The mlsli and Newsday sites do have links to school report cards, but it's a lot of info to wade through, and I don't feel it compares each school with the county clearly enough. Maybe I'm just a lazy researcher! If you find anything more helpful about SDs, please let me know.

greatschools.net is a good site for school districts. it can rank sd's in a certain area by attendance rate, teachers educations, amount of kids per class, etc.

I agree...greatschools.net is great if you want school info...for recent home sales check out www.mynassauproperty.com. The comparables are accurate but the estimated house values are off by 20%, so keep that in mind if you're looking to get the market value for a specific house
Thank you! greatschools.net is very helpful, much easier to read than the official school report cards!
