Best Western Mill River Manor?

Anyone book their wedding or know of anyone who has booked their wedding at Best Western Mill River Manor in Rockville Centre? I've met with the banquet managers and they seem very nice. But there aren't many reviews for them so I was just wondering if anyone has heard of how their service is? Please let me know! Thanks! :)

I'm going to look at them for a hotel for my guests at my wedding. I'd be interested to know if you find anything out. I was thinking of inquiring about their catering services for my rehearsal dinner. I spoke to the director of sales, Haley Rice, who was very nice on the phone. When I reached out by email asking if we could discuss prices or a time for me to come in in a couple weeks when it will be a year out from my wedding, she told me I had to wait until 365 days out- which is what I was asking. Ugh, people. I'll still look there though! I'm interested to hear their prices.

I would like to know as well! We are just starting but would really consider having it here. We live a couple blocks away so it would be really convenient for us and our guests!

@HesLIgirl - That is really strange that Haley said that. I went there way before a year till the date to take a look at the place and discuss pricing. Although... I dealt with the banquet managers since I'm highly considering having a wedding there. So maybe with hotel blocking it's a little different. I'm not sure. That was a funny response she gave though lol

@CoJo - Please keep us posted if you hear anything about them as well! It's so scary trying out a place that has very little reviews on the web. They've been really nice to us and the place really looks great, especially for how much we were quoted! Hopefully someone who's experienced their service will respond to the post. *crosses fingerss*

I emailed her back-- maybe she thought I said July in my email and not June? That happens! I'd like to set up some appointments for the weekend after this one since that will be exactly one year (!).

I actually got a great price ($149 a room) from them. Just FYI, their rooms are pretty tiny and motel style (doors open to the outside). Their catering manager was very nice, but unwilling to budge on their price for my rehearsal dinner. He wanted to charge us their wedding price and still have a 4 hour event for $65 a person. It only went down to $60 if we did beer/wine/soda. That's insane. We only wanted a 2 hour dinner, wouldn't mind buffet and that shouldn't be more than $30-40. I guess we'll try to find a place where we can bring in catering or a restaurant that isn't very pricey!

Really? Their rooms are tiny? Sheesh, well looks sure are deceiving from the pictures then. That's odd that the doors open to the outside and not the inside of the room. I don't think I've ever seen or heard of that before. I don't know much about hotel prices since I've never had to pay for that (yay timeshares!). Are the rooms nice in person at least? We may/may not get a couple of rooms there for the wedding party to get dressed since their bridal sweet is a tiny little thing. I don't even know how they could really call that a suite. It's a tiny room about the size of a closet with 2 or 3 steps that lead to a bathroom. Anyway, for the price they gave us, that room doesn't really matter. That's crazy that they're charging that much just for 2 hrs! I'm sure there are plenty of places you can find that are less expensive than that for what you want. Which catering manager did you speak to?

The rooms looked nice enough, but it looked like there wasn't much room to walk around between the beds and furniture. One bed was pretty much against the far wall and one was against the window with a very small gap in between. We actually weren't able to go into any rooms, just looked from through open windows, so maybe they have bigger rooms? They also didn't have any we could look at since they were completely booked the weekend we looked. Also, they did't have a sales person on staff when we went to look, so we didn't get any details on suites, etc. Maybe you can ask them if they have any bigger rooms for your bridal party.

I don't remember the name of the banquet manager we talked to. He was a middle aged, bald man.

Oh okay. Thanks for the info! Yeah I'll have to ask to see their suites. And bald guy? Must've been Jeff lol If Chris is still there, he's the guy to talk to. He's so nice!
