Re: Best Western Riverhead
I booked my rooms there. Honestly I heard both good and bad...but the other 2 hotels in Riverehead never got back to me and I called them both like 20 times. Best Western was the only one who got back to me and they are really easy to work with...so they got my business. Hopes this helps.

we have stayed there several times when we have gone out to the vineyards and we never had a bad experience! compared to the hilton and the holiday inn it's not as nice i guess b/c it's older, but the rates are always great and the restaurant is good!

Can you tell me what rate they gave you? I was quoted $149 for Nov. I feel like it's high since all of my friends that have done room blocks on LI have gotten $99 rates at the Marriot and Sheraton

Re: Best Western Riverhead
I checked them out it was a little older than the others but will be renovated soon (I don't remember when they would be done but things would have been worked on around the time of my wedding )
the restaurant manager was very nice, the restaurant option is great
the rooms are tight - I have a lot of people who would prefer spacious accomodations so I went with the Holiday Inn... more options as far as 'suites' the price was about $10-20 more but around your quote- I thought it was high too since I am also 'off season' but this was what everyone was giving me throughout the island
oOOh and for Georgios the Holiday Inn has special shuttle packages ...

Ok....I booked the Best Western for $199/night and the Holiday Inn Express for $209/night ($229 suites)....We are getting married on Columbus Day wknd, but after reading all your comments, Im kinda thinking we're getting completely ripped off!!....That was the negotiated price too..they originally wanted more ....

Does the Holiday Inn have a bar? That was also important to me...so people had a place to hang out after the wedding.
Best Western also has the shuttle deal. So awesome. Just one less thing to worry about!

My sister actually paid $200 at the Holiday Inn in June. I was shocked. Seems so pricey for the area...but I get they can get it b/c there are so few hotels.
