Bet Halevi

hey girls! so I have a question. i was speaking with rabbi's and in terms of their fee's for doing the ceremony. One rabbi said that he doesn't charge but asks instead we don't to Bet Halevi. What is this?

Wikipedia says it's a moshav in central Israel ... but i don't know why your rabbi would want you to donate to that, necessarily.
