I went to Bethpage OB/GYN as a recommendation and was very happy there- I saw Dr.George and she was so nice and very knowledgeable. Here is my question.... I want to use them for when we have a baby, and want to know the experiences anyone of you had with them throughout there preganancy and during the whole labor and delivery. Do you see the same doctor there thru the 9 months, and who delivers on the day you are in labor? Also, what hopsital do you deliver in, one you pick or whatever hospital they tell you to go to?No I am not preganat yet, but we will be starting soon after the wedding.

Re: Bethpage OB/GYN... FEEDBACK PLEASE
While I do not have experience with this practice I will say that in MOST practices with more than one doctor you do see all of the doctors during your pregnancy and whoever is on call when you go into labor is going to deliver your baby. This was a major problem for me since I don't see male OBs. It is near impossible to find an all female OB practice on LI. You can call the office and just ask about their policy. That is what I did when I was looking at OB practices. The office managers always were very nice and answered my questions about thata type of stuff.

I highly recommend them!! Dr. George actually delivered my son along with Dr. Bervine. They are wonderful there, from the Dr's to the nurses to the sono techs. I like that everything is done in the office. I never had to go anywhere else. You do have to see every Dr. and you will be delivered by whomever is on call but all the Dr's are wonderful. I had Damien at NSUH@Plainview. I pre-registered so I just had to go up to L&D. When I called at 2:30am to say I was in labor the Dr. wanted mw to go to Winthrop(they do try and push Winthrop) but I was adamant about going to Plainview, so that's where we went. I was in labor for 13 hours and Dr. Bervine decided to do a c-section because she didn't like the way I was progressing and was starting to get worried. I'm so glad she did because the cord was wrapped around his neck. I completely trust them. I also had an amnio and had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy. Which with there help I controled with diet and didn't need insulin. The 3 female Dr's there are: Dr. Geprge, Dr. Bervine, and Dr Hannauer. The 2 males are: Dr. Weiss(the founder) and Dr. Taranni. I will admit Dr. Taranni has the least bedside manner but you can make sure you dodn't see him as much as the others. I always had say in who I saw, but they will tell you to se every Dr. a least once. HTH

Re: Bethpage OB/GYN... FEEDBACK PLEASE
I would always ask so that whenever I had an internal I made sure to have a female Dr. I had to see Dr. Weiss when I got an amnio, and I saw Dr. Taranni a lot in the beginning but saw only Dr. George and Dr. Bervine in the end I saw Dr. Hannauer 2x's before she left on maternity leave. Dr. Bervine was my regular OBGYN but after giving birth I will see either her or Dr. George.
Edited to add:
I had way more appt. than a normal pregnancy because of the gestational diabetes.

After all your recommendations, I made an appointment for Dr. Bervine for December. I am glad to hear more positive experiences!

Re: Bethpage OB/GYN... FEEDBACK PLEASE
another Bethpage OB/GYN fan here!!!! In fact I have an appointment with Dr. George tonight! I was so happy with them and their practice throughout my first pregnancy, I had not a question to go to them for my second. In fact, my company just switched insurances and the first thing I did was check to make sure they were in the plan!
I think Stacey pretty much covered everything but if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
