Anyone know anything about the area of Bethpage that is in the Plainegde school district. Also, do you know anything about the school district? Thanks!!!

I live in Bethpage and my sister happens to be a Bethpage kindergardten teacher and they are a very good school district.
Plainedge is the next town over and although smaller....fairly the same.

I'm a product of the Plainedge school district... it's very good - just watch the taxes in the area. They are up there. My parents paid 8-9k up until last year - that's WITH the STAR program.

They are both fine but Plainedge always has better test scores than Bethpage. They are both 'good' districts though. Plainedge has a smaller graduating size and smaller classes than Bethpage.

I'm in the Plainedge district. I have no kids as of yet, but I looked into the district before I moved here. The schools are supposed to be really good as far as I know.

I grew up in Plainedge and it was great. But like Kriss said the taxes there are OUT OF CONTROL... It is unbelievable how much my parents taxes went up. Make sure you call the Town to confirm the taxes before you sign any contract.

I just bought in Plainedge schools, but my address is north massapequas. Our property is 80x100 and our taxes are not high at all! If you have a plainedge address they are high.

We just went to closing in our house in Massapequa - Plainedge SD and our taxes are 9200 it's before STAR, we have to apply for next year... taxes are high in that area because 1 - there aren't a lot of commercial businesses to bring down taxes and 2- they just built a new Middle school... I have heard wonderful things about the SD - I can't wait to move it

that's where I grew up too! my parents still live there right by the new middle school. the schools are still good! the class sizes aren't massive so it's good! the taxes are ridiculous though--but that's everwhere in nassau--except the slums

Both DH & I went to Plainedge. I lived in the Massapequa section ( Iactually am the cut off jouse for Massapequa SD) and DH grew up in the Bethpage area. I do prefer his area, as the houses are a bit bigger and newer, and the lots are bigger as well. DHs parents live on a lot that is 75 x 125. Most of the lots in my neighborhood are 100x 60 (they are wide, but not deep & the houses are pushed back so there are very small backyards.)

The 'Plainedge Address' is not always in plainedge school district.....sometimes it is Island Trees SD
