BEWARE - LNT In-Store Pickup

Just a word of caution to last minute shoppers who may consider doing 'In Store Pickup' from Linens N Things ...

DON'T DO IT!!

I found out the hard way that when you purchase an item on-line for In-Store Pickup .. it can take a week for your item to be processed and made available for you .. even if they have the item in stock at the time you make the on-line purchase .. which by the time they actually get around to processing the order .. can be out-of-stock.

Circuit City on the other hand .. guarantees your order to be ready for pickup in 30 minutes .. NOW THAT'S SERVICE!!!

Actually, the Circuit City one is the order id guaranteed to be ready for pick up within 24 minutes or you get a $24 gift card!

I got a gift card that way. I got to the store 90 minutes after ordering on line and the counter guy says, 'oh, I have to go find it on the floor.' They wouldn't let me return my items and buy them back w/ the gift card (jerks), so I bought a $25 itunes card with the gift card.

Its true...I worked there over the summer when it was slow and in store p/ups were horrible behind

The biggest issue I found with Circuit City and Best Buy in store pickups is... yeah they prepare it for you in 30 minutes...

But at least in Best Buy... you have to get your merchandise at the customer service counter. You have to wait on the same line the other people that want to return stuff use.

Have you ever seen the return line at Best Buy during this time of the year (right after Xmas).

Trust me when I say... don't even consider this at Best Buy or Circuit City until at least February.
