I am apologizing in advance for this very long post, but I needed to vent and this is the best place to do it:

This was me!
Karen,
This was me for a while also. Actually, my fiancee (now husband)was too much help and I found myself doing th same thing as you --- he didn't do it fast enough so I wanted to do it myself. That's the quickest way to drive yourself crazy. One thing I learned....you are the bride. You should allow your BRIDESMAIDS to do some stuff. My bridesmaids had the EASIEST time with my wedding because I asked them to do NOTHING!
As for the gradeur of the event, there were at least 20 things I wanted to do for my wedding (which I HAVE been planning since I was 5) that did not get done in time for our May 2000 wedding...but you know what? No one noticed but me! After all was said and done, everyone thought I did the most amazing job! Cut yourself some slack and enjoy your planning.

Beware, this could be you!
Thanks. My logical side tells me I'm not the only one, but when you're frothing at the mouth, its so easy to forget you're not alone in the wide world of wedding planning. Thanks again. We all know its not about the little details, but sometimes its hard to see the forest for the trees.

The best weddings are BBQs
Want to know why? No pretense, no presenations, just people.
My boss is a married thirty something millionare who has been to weddings held in barns and weddings held at the most exclusive country clubs. Want to know which ones he remembers most? The simple ones - the one held in a barn or at someone's house. Because the people were comfortable, kicked off their shoes and really celebrated!
I did lose my mind several times while planning my wedding in 6 months. Eventually, I threw the books away, paid no mind to 'what was expected' and planned my personalized fun wedding. Know what? The 85 people at my little wedding almost took the house down with all their dancing! If you have good people in a room with a long hero and a keg of beer, they'll have a good time. Why? Because its YOUR WEDDING and they love you. If not, then why invite them in the first place?
