Beware: Using New Face products!
Hello brides,
So besides chatting on Liweddings.com, I also use theknot.com for their really good wedding checklist feature. Well, in my checklist I noticed that it mentioned that if a bride plans on trying any new facial cleansers she should do so at least 6 weeks in advance to the wedding in case of an allergic reaction.
Well on Monday night, I used a new product by a company that I have used for at least a year - and had a MAJOR allergic reaction to it. It was a warming type cleanser that you use twice a week - and I being a vain bride - thought hey, I should try it - maybe I won't have any blemishes for the big day if I use it.
Well on Tuesday, I went to the mall with my sister and as we were eating in the food court, she looked at my neck and said, 'Holy cow - what the hell is happening to your face?'
Needless to say, I blew up like a balloon! My face and neck were swollen twice their normal size and everything was beet red with white blotches all over. The reaction was so bad that my glands were super swollen too! I had to make an emergency appt and the doctore had to give me STEROIDS and prescription strength Benedryll to reduce the swelling. I am still on them a week later!
So, the wedding is March 15th, and I am starting to look normal again - but wanted to warn all of you about the 'danger' of trying anything new right before your big day. I am not usually so vain, but this wedding is making me wonky!
have a great day!![]()
