I just wanted to warn all of you about this scam associated with Vistaprint (I've heard a lot of other discount websites do this too like hotwire)
My fiance and I ordered our STDs from Vistaprint and they came out great AND they were cheap. We loved them and even ordered other things from them. Their quality is good; I'm not disputing that at all. However, BEWARE when you check out.
At checkout, there are a whole bunch of offers and if you're in a rush (like I was), you might click yes to things that you haven't read carefully. Well, one of them is passport to fun. I have no idea what it is (some discount program) and I didn't realize until today, but these people are taking 14.95 out of my checking account every month! I called to dispute it and they very nicely gave me a refund (thank god!), but i just want to warn everyone to be VERY careful at checkout with Visaprint.

Good thing to know!!
ETA: BTW I was tyring to create my own STD. I tried uploading my creation to VistaPrint and it seems that the size of my document doesn't coincide with the size they require so of course it stretches it out.
Can anyone FM how you can fix this?

How is it a scam if you clicked Yes without reading what you were saying Yes too? Seems like you should post BEWARE READ ALL DIRECTIONS WHEN CHECKING OUT. Instead of saying its a scam because it really isnt. I use vista alot and they clearly state that they will charge you 14.95.

Re: BEWARE vistaprint checkout scam!
This happened to me....but WORSE.....& I DO try to notice all these types of things when checking out.
My creditcard was being billed NOT ONLY by VistaPrint $14.95 every month, but also by another company called 'Passport To Fun' $14.95, every month....which somehow IS connected to VistaPrint. I didn't realize it until after 4 months, because I did order from them twice...& I kept thinking 'was this the bill? was that the amount?....The 1st time I noticed it I thought it was just a double billing & disputed it with my creditcard company...no problem. But then 2 months later when I saw it again & started looking at the last few months I was ready to scream! I disputed it with my creditcard (all 4 months...AND called VistaPrint ready to have a war...but they were 'so nice & pleasant' GAG & credited my card that I couldn't havde the fight I was ready for.....

Yeah, we got scammed too - but you can call and cancel. FH just got his credit card statement and we got hit twice! I guess that's what happens when you order it way past your bedtime

I didn't click YES. Yes was already clicked for me. It was one of those things that you have to UNCLICK yes. That's why it's a scam. Should i have read more carefully so that I unclicked the yes? Of course. I'm not trying to judge Vistaprint's product, just wanted to alert brides of this so they don't find themselves in the same predicament. At the same time, the fact that they allow a third party to access your payment information is absurd.

this takes a lot of time and patience! you have to put the design into a program that will enlarge AND increase your resolution. Then you have to try and try again until you get it right.
Took me hours!!

Re: BEWARE vistaprint checkout scam!
Its not really considered a 'scam'. A scam is when they trick you into doing something. As long as you are aware, you are fine.

Re: BEWARE vistaprint checkout scam!
This isn't exclusive to Vistaprint. Proflowers does this as well. So do a few other sites.
Not really a scam. it has to do with the advertisers they allow on their site more than Vistaprint themselves.
That's why you always need to watch what you click on!

Re: BEWARE vistaprint checkout scam!
We used VistaPrint for part of our STD's. We ordered them as business cards and then attached them to magnets we ordered off of EBay. They came out great. But the $14.95...what a pain, it took nearly a year to get them to stop the withdrawl from our debit card. They said we agreed to it with our purchase, which...if you don't read the fine print you do.

Re: BEWARE vistaprint checkout scam!
This happened to me with ProFlowers.
I unfortunately didn't pay attention to my statements for a few months, but then I noticed I was getting charged $34.00 a month. I went back and checked my past months statements and it started out as $14 then jumped to $34.
I called the number to cancel, and they were pleasant enough. But, then I noticed I was getting charged again, but from a different named company. Either I clicked on something again *I NEED TO PAY ATTENTION SOMETIMES* or it was the same company.
In the end I called my credit card company, said I had no idea how these charges came about and they sent it to the fraud department, credited me the money, and just gave me a totally new card.
I learned a HUGE lesson! Don't rush and click without reading EVERYTHING first!
