Beyond Frustrated with Chateau La Mer

I didn't want to post this originally but I am so annoyed at this point, I feel like other girls out there should know about my experience with CLM.

I had my wedding planned at CLM for September 2010 and we cancelled our wedding in March. Since I've cancelled, CLM has been a complete nightmare to work with. Not returning messages, not willing to timely reimburse my deposit, basically avoiding me entirely. It was a really bad time for me after I cancelled that wedding, and instead of being helpful and compassionate, CLM has caused me immense stress. They are super quick to take your payments, but not so willing to give you it back!

FH and I rebooked our wedding elsewhere now, but I really hope that all of you CLM girls never have to cancel, because they will do nothing but be a pain from day 1.

Kristen, stay strong and keep on them. Even if you have to get a lawyer.

That sucks..aren't they is Suffolk can't you use the law to get your deposit back?

Yup...thats my next step. I have tried to remain nice with them until this point but I think they are deliberately trying to give me a hard time.

your contract allowed you to get your deposit back?? that happened to me and fh- we cancelled at milleridge and lost 3k... they wouldnt give it back. it said it in the contract so i didnt have a leg to stand on

Really?? Well in Suffolk, the law roughly says that they need to give you everything back, minus $500 (for admin fees), if they dont rebook your date. IF they do rebook your date, they can only keep $100. And this law overrides any contract written by a RH. There are other scenarios mentioned in the law too but thats the summary lol.

If I wasn't able to get my money back, I would have said oh well and went on my way. But this money is rightfully mine and them giving me the run around for 10 months straight, avoiding my calls, telling me the check 'went out yesterday' everytime I call.....obviously they have shady business practices

aww im sorry you are having such a bad experience with them.

i have changed my wedding date twice with them already and have not had any problems. Nick is amazing to work with. No complaints here!

The same think happen to be at Watermill, I got very rude and annoyed over the phone. I called like 4 times, left messages everytime. They gave me excuses. I got to the point and said if I have to take a day off and come down there, you will need the cops because I am not leaving without my payment. I really didnt care how that made me look since they were very unprofessional. BUT when I finally got the manager of the refund on the phone, he had my check in the mail the same day.

Just stay on their a s s e s

I was thinking of going down there and doing the same thing lol! I wish there was a set manager in charge, they keep telling me to deal with the bookkeeper, who is useless and only here a few hours a week.

Show up there when they are having a wedding asking for your money. Im sure they will give it to you asap so you don't cause a scene!
