BF'd and antibiotics

BF'd and antibiotics

So I am back from the dreaded 4 wisdom teeth pull. Of course I was completely out of it when I left the office. They have given me amoxicillin to fight off infection. Now I know I can't BF for 24 hours because of the anesthesia. But will the antibiotics effect my milk supply? TIA

I had 2 wisdom teeth taken out when Emma was 4 months old. I could BF right after along with taking the vicoden ES. I suggest asking your ped. whats ok.

Call your ped and ask. Some antibotics will effect your supply. Wait, better yet call my LC Dawn Frank in Babylon. She will give you free advise about this over the phone.

pumping moms said it is fine to take while bfing and didn't effect their supply.

I suggest you call your pediatrician and tell him/her what type of antibiotic you are taking. I have to take some tonight, and I am not able to BF for 48 hours.

Natasha- are you okay? make sure you pump during those 48 hours and drink plenty of water to keep your supply going.
