Bid $?

When you made a bid on your house, how much lower was it than the asking price?

I think we bid about $10000 less and then eventually we agreed upon about $7000 less.

We bid 15K less and got it for 10K less...but we really wanted the house, otherwise we would have bid at least 20K less.

We bid 10K less on our first condo and held firm. I knew the sellers really needed to unload it. IMHO, it was overpriced to begin with, so I thought the offer was fair.

we bid 30 grand below asking and got it for 20 below asking but it wasnt a deal because it was a fixer upper

our realtor told us that we should bid about 12% below asking price, and ask to pay about 7% below -- i am sure hoping she is right!

They were asking $465 we bid $450 got it for $460.

After figuring out all the $$ that we were spending between the house and the wedding at the same time I really wasnt going to lose the house over 10grand.

10 dollars more.

We knew our house wouldn't last for the price they were asking - very low and in relatively good shape so we bid $10 dollars more than the asking price.

There were 5 other bids on our house and several of them were for the asking price. We were lucky they picked us. I'm glad we decided to put in the other 10.

We bid asking price because we knew there were already offers, and in our opinion the house was 'underpriced' compared to others we saw in the same area. We ended up in a bidding war and bid 11K over which was our max. Someone else bid 20K MORE THAN US but then the deal fell through, and they came back to us. Although we bid 11K over, we still feel like we got a great deal, because after we fix the house up (I mean re-doing EVERYTHING) we would have still spent less money than other houses on that same block are asking right now.
