Big Hole in my Dress!?
I'm all happily married now, but before I get around to my bride review, I have one more question you guys might be able to help me out with:
When I was leaving my wedding (literally as I was heading out the door to go) a man from the party of the wedding after mine stepped on the back of my dress, and the next step I took- rip! At first we thought it was just the bustle button, but it actually tore from the bustle button straight through leaving a one inch hole in the back of my dress. (The man, coincidentally, just casually walked away after seeing what he did.)
I was planning on bringing my dress to a consignment shop, but I don't even know now. It is in perfect condition otherwise, no spills, nothing. What could I do? Can I fix it? What seamstress will take it and how do I find one out of the 10,000 of them in NYC? Any advice is welcome, this dress can't just hang out in my closet forever!
