So I ordered and already got my invitations .. and I completely forgot to write 'Black Tie Optional' on them. I didn't even think about it until now .. and I cannot re-order them! It's an evening wedding .. do you think anyone would come not in a suit? Any ideas on how to let people know it's NOT casual .. and it is Black Tie Optional!
Help!

Re: Big Mistake...
did you include a link to your wedding website or anything like that?
if so, just put it on the website that it's black tie optional..
otherwise... maybe order some supplemental cards to put into the invitation, maybe with a picture of a suit with black tie option written on it..

Re: Big Mistake...
if it's an evening wedding, people will definitely wear suits. however, without any reference to black tie/black tie optional, you probably won't have any guests wearing tuxes.

I never made us a website ..
The card sounds like a good idea..I will look into that.
Thanks!!

Re: Big Mistake...
honestly, these days, most men wear suits to evening weddings. Especially if you are having it in a reputable hall or someplace they might know.
If you are really concerned, I would do an business card insert about the black tie like jwleewedding suggested.

Re: Big Mistake...
Definitely don't worry. I had a Saturday night wedding and did not write anything about dress on my invites and everyone came dressed in suits and nice dresses. We even had some suspect people that we thought might not quite 'get it' that they should dress up, but they did.
Anyways, if someone does show up not dressed fancy enough...is it going to ruin your night? Probably not. Chances are, you won't even notice. If you can't change it...move on...it is not a big deal at all. It'll be great!!

I think most people know that its suit attire. Especially their wives will dress them in a suit

I really don't think you'll have a problem at all.
And now my question is..do people actually wear tuxes? I wanna know!

yup. i've been to a bunch of black tie weddings this year, and i'd say about most of the guys wear tuxes. for girls, it varies - a lot of people wear short dresses, but formal ones.

Re: Big Mistake...
I think its pretty much common sense, even to daytime weddings my FH wears a suit. Its just what's appropriate for a RH. However, with that being said, I also am worried about some family members who aren't used to our culture, so I'm having my FMIL spread the word lol

I would leave off your names or make them smaller and increase the size of the black tie optional if you are going to put the card in with the invite. Can you get cards printed on paper that match your invites? You are worried about how people are going to dress but proper ettiquette is for all of your stationary to match.
