My sister (moh) and my ONLY bridesmaid is pregnant, and is HUGE. She is not able to wear the dress she originally bought. My wedding is one month away. We have based EVERYTHING on her dress colorwise, and now we have to find her a new dress.
Where can I find a gold colored bridesmaid or formal dress in a maternity style? She is showing and will be enormous in four weeks.
We really dont want her to wear black. REALLY dont want this, and I want this to be painless and quick. My mother will drive me nuts if I dont find something quickly!

Also, has anyone returned a dress they were not able to use either for store credit or an actual return? I am sure each place has their own policy, but what are your experiences with this?

You could check with the store. They can order fabric to alter the dress. They can insert fabric to adapt the dress to her.
People have done it before. Just check with them asap.

Maybe you can find at dress at gownfind? I hear Phyllis is a huge help and should be able to help you. If not you might get lucky visiting some maternity stores....you might find a dress in the color you are looking for.
I looked online to help you and this is what I found:
i've heard of cases (if the seamstresses are REALLY good) where they actually add a stretchy material insert across the back of the dress. Dont know if that's an option but it's worth asking. Other than that I'm really not sure....try asking the bridal store where you bought the dress - they can probably guide you elsewhere if they really can't help you. Good Luck!

I definitely second this. They can probably contact the company and get a panel to add into the dress.

I've never heard of a place that takes back a formal gown. If that was the case, people would try to wear a gown once, and return it. 2 of my BM dropped out and they were stuck with their gowns.
I agree with the others to ask the shop where you got it. They can work wonders with extra fabric. I've heard others that have done this.
BTW: It would cost a TON less to buy extra fabric than to buy a new dress.

ALSO.... post a SPECIFIC topic on here. Not just 'BIG PROBLEM... please help!'. One that states... 'NEED GOLD DRESS... SIZE XX.. ASAP' that will catch someone's attention who might have one who might not otherwise have clicked onto your topic. Post it on EVERY board here.. INCLUDING the VENDORS HELPING BRIDES boards... and all the YEARLS boards! Even if a member doesn't have one, they might know someone who does!
