BIG Relief

I booked my wedding and reception at the Beach Club in Lake Ronkonkoma in Feb 2000. At the time it wasn't the greatest looking place in the world, but they told us that they would be doing a lot of work on the outside and promised it would be done in plenty of time for our Sept 23,2001 wedding. The price was great and it was the smaller hall that we were looking for. I haven't been there since last September when no work had been done. They promised it would be. Well I went today just to take a look and wow..what a big difference. While it is not finished yet, so much has been done that it looks completely different. I cannot tell you how relieved I was to see it. We took a big chance by booking on their word alone, but it was worth it. Now I really can't wait til September!!!!

BIG Relief

I am so happy that it worked out!! We were there last year too when they were talking about it but we were a bit nervous about it. My mothers country club where she works was supposed to have been renovated over the winter and never happened so we didnt want to take a chance at the Beach Club. I saw a pic of the water and I noticed it looked like they ripped out the gazebo, but it looks nice with the arch. Good luck and I am happy they held to their plans! Oh, and yes they offered a low price for last year but imagine how much its gone up since the renovations!! You got a great deal I'm sure!!

We got a very good deal. The gazebo is still there and that is where we intend to get married. Maybe the pictures that you saw were before they had it. When we booked they did not but they told us about it.

Wendy, make sure they do the work, when I almost booked there 3 years ago, they told me the same thing. Keep on top of them about that.

BIG Relief

The work is almost done. Not much more for them to do so I am not worried. They have added landscaping and an incredible fountain with lights in it, and beautiful outdoor lamps and it looks completely different. They have also added an enclosed area on the outside of the reception building which will have tables and chairs for guests to sit at (sort of like a French bistro). The property has been cleaned up and they have added a lovely belgian block walkway all the way around. I know they had a lot of restrictions regarding what they could do, because the main building is considered an historical site, but what a difference. Now I can't wait to see it completely done. And I have no doubt that it will be.
