Well, according to Patrick (ever the cop, lol), based on the wording of the article and the actions that have been taken since the accident, he probably was drunk, but for whatever reason the police are keeping quiet about it.
I'm curious to see if he's right!

I worked in an office right under Billy Joels management company. Ive met him a few times. He was always really nice. I can't imagine him being a drunk... but he was probably tanked. I hope he gets better soon.

Wow - I hope he's ok! He's always seemed so down-to-earth and nice.

On a separate note, can you imagine that house he lives in??!!! $94K just in TAXES EACH YEAR!!!

I love Billy Joel and have been pulling for him since the last concert I saw of his ,w/Elton John. I saw the first concert before they stopped the shows and he was as high as a kite!!! I hope he isn't having the same problems

FH's brother was his ER doctor and took care of him. He said he was singing new songs in the ER! He also had to give him a rectal exam

DaniRN, that is too funny a rectal. The question was he tanked or not? When he crashed in 1983 he was in his hayday drinking. If he was under the influence of something he needs help. It is a good thing that he was not seriously injured or anyone else for that matter.

i love Billy Joel. I saw him in concert a few years ago. Drove to Conn. to see him.

I hope he is ok. OOH singing new songs, i hope this means he'll do a concert...i wanted to see him when he was playing with elton but tickets were greatly expensive.

I love billy joel and my dream is to see him in concert. I feel so bad for him and his problems with alcohol. I hope he is ok and i truly hope he wasnt drinking. I blame it all on CHRISTIE!!!!

I love BJ... I saw him in Sept. in Madison Square Garden w/Elton John.
