Yes, we did that this afternoon when we had our meeting with our wedding coordinator. Actually, she phoned them. And that's the way they do it here and there is NO way around it...........
In our contract, this is what it says:
GUEST ROOM MINIMUM:
Hotel is relying on, and group agrees to provied a minimum of 42 guest roon nights. Should the group fall below this amount, the group will be respoinsible for the difference between the minimum guest room nights and actualized guest room nights multiplied by the single convention guest room rate multiplied by 80% (guest room minimum minus guest rooms actualized multiplied by single convention room rate multiplied by 80%), plus the applicable state sales tax.
For any day that the hotel acheives 100% accupancy during the official event dates, the group will receive credit for full achievement of the contracte fblock for that day. In such case, the group's total pick up will be calculated by adding the difference contracted and actual room nights for sold out nights to the groups total pick up.
The hotel and group intent to liquidate the damages in the event that the group fails to meet the guest room minimum set forth in this section. Therefore, group and hotel agree that the above formula is a reasonable estimate of the hotel's damage in the event that such a minimum is not met and that the liquidated damages set forth in this section do not constitue a penalty.
They said that there are two hotels in our area that do this and of course, with our luck, our's is one of them.......

Oh man. I guess theres just no way around it since its the Hotels policy. Hopefully all of the rooms will book up and you wont have to pay for any unused rooms. ![]()

Yah, that's what we're hoping for..........BLAH! Just so annoying.....I mean, THEY make SOOOOOO much money off weddings and they do THIS kind of crap! BLAH! Just annoys me!!!

Yah, got a discount rate. I think the regular rate was $129.00. They wanted to charge $117.00 but I told them that the Radisson across the street charged $109.00 so they matched that.
