BINKY, WHATS THAT ???? Funny Story!
Just for fun, I wanted to see how JA would react to seeing a binky, after he's been binky-free for almost 2months.
(Might I add, Im so proud of him
)
He never had fits or showed signs of wanting it as we weaned him from it. It was a pretty seamless transition.
So today, we had the camera rolling, and let him play with his toys, spoke to him, asked him questions, as he repeated everything we said (or tried to
). Then I handed him the binky...
It was the funniest thing. He looked at it like it was a new, strange toy... He threw it on the floor, threw it into his basketball hoop
and then into his Lego Truck
He picked it up again, and threw it to the floor.
Well over five minutes into this, he put it near his mouth, 'tasted it' as if it were something he might want to put into his mouth..and then made a funny face
as if it tasted sour or something...
Then he brought his big Elmo doll over to daddy, and we put it in Elmo's mouth.. He took it out and put it back into ELmo's mouth several times...but he never once put it back into his mouth...
It seems we weaned him at a perfect time. Before he was able to 'name it' and ask for it by name
It did bring him 13 months of comfort and dreamy nights, so I will absolutely let baby#2 have one
but Im also glad I wont have a preschooler speaking through a binky
Thanks for listening to my silly story.. I was hoping it wouldnt end up backfiring and BACK TO BINKY...
Oh, the trials and tribulations of a toddler
