My church will only allow bird seeds to be thrown after the ceremony. I don't think I like bird seeds. What do you think?
My SIL had bird seeds - and to be honest with you - noone is really going to know the difference ... just make something cute for ppl to throw them in ... my mom (shes a seamstress) sews a satin puch - and puts the bird seeds in there - and then puts green tape on the bottom, and its looks like a white tulip - very pretty! hard to explain - wish i had pics!

My sister had birdseeds at her wedding and it was very messy. After it was all thrown she had birdsees stuck all in her up-do and down her dress and she hadn't even taken pics yet. I would reather nothing thrown instead of bird seed.
I say be on the safe side and go with the bubbles and wavers. they are fun.
I personally don't care for the bubbles either - I feel they are too messy and can stain. I have my second mtg w/the church on 2/20 and I have to ask him them if we can have rose petals. If we can't do rose petals I don't think we'll do anything.

MY BROTHER HAS BIRDSEED THROWN AT THEM, AND LET ME TEL YOU....WHAT A MESS! THE BIRDSEED LEFT MARKS ON ALL THE GUYS TUXES. IT TOOK MY 20 MINUTES WITH BABY WIPES TO CLEAN THEM OFF.

Bubbles, if they get on your dress or your brides maid dress, can stain and leave rings and circles on your dress. I wouldn't do them.
I'm also big on flower petals....see if you can do that.
And you know what I always wondered(you gotta love it,I'm so catholic but always questioning their authority) What if they only allow birdseeds...and they said no to rose petals. And lets just say you say screw it and do rose petal. Look, they can't stop anyone from doing it. The petals are biodegradeable and will not atrract ants. What are they going to do? Call the vatican police on you?!?!? I'm sure they have valid reasons, I just don't get it!

I went to a wedding that had poppers. That was not a bad idea. It was easy for them to clean up and easy to pull off. Does not leave any marks!!
(They printed personalized labels and put them around the poppers, it was really cute)

A friend of mine was told 'no' to rose petals and she had them anyway. She had someone clean them up afterwards with a dustpan and brush. I feel once your outside and they already married you...what are they going to do???? I agree with you Nina.
