Did anyone or does anyone plan to rent a birdcage for the cards? If so do you think it's worth it? I wonder if it's better to just have my Mom or someone hold the bridal bag with the envelopes. What do you guys think?

Re: Birdcage Rental
I love the idea! Ebay sells em really cheap...you can try a search on there.... or make your own :0) I have heard stories of people losing the money holder/bag thingie. I think something more difficult to pick up and walk away with is better.,....and place it near the cake table in full view....

Re: Birdcage Rental
I agree, a friend of mine in Ohio had her bridal bag swiped with all the $ in it and never got it back. They thought is was a waiter/waitress, but could never prove anything. A rough way to start a life together.

Re: Birdcage Rental
i had one at the recep. and it was great! my little purse was not big enough to hold them so we go it! the cage was right next to my table and was able to keep an eye on it the whole night! plus they are all in one spot!

Re: Birdcage Rental
I will definitely check out ebay (since I'm a little craft challenged). My hall rents them for $50 so ebay is a better choice and it will be mine.

A&S Novelty in farmingdale rents really pretty ones. I am currently making a mail box for my cards!

Re: Birdcage Rental
I saw them in Patchogue Floral I kind of think they are unnecessary and my mom said she would want to hand people their card personally rather than put it in a cage. Most people should send their gifts ahead of time so I think it might be better to spend money on something else
Just my opinion

Re: Birdcage Rental
Not a birdcage, but a 'wedding cake' cardholder, made by WeezieNY, a bride on this site who got married this past October. I will be picking it up on monday, but she sent me a pic. I can't wait to see it in person!!
