I love the IDEA of a birdcage veil, and I really want to rock one. IMO, sometimes it looks awesome, but a lot of times it looks off to me, like it's too poofy or too close to the face, too straight across, or cuts off at an odd position. Are there girls with similar thinking who have come to solutions about this? Is there any shop that specializes in birdcage veils that would know how to choose the right veil and suggest how to wear it? Also maybe let you test how it would look before you buy it?

Re: Birdcage Veils
I got mine at Barron's in Tri-County.
To keep it from looking too poofy, you can gather the netting a bit at the comb part of it, plus bobby pin it down.

I'm making my own, so I can't help you with wear to buy one, but pretty much all of the stores let you try it on before buying it.
The videos on this site have helped me A LOT with how to put it on and position it: LINK
You can drastically change how it looks/falls on your face with bobby pins. I would say make sure you get it before your hair trial and have your hairdresser work with it to get it the way you want it.

Re: Birdcage Veils
I had mine made at Barron's from a pic I found on Birdcageveils.com. Although on that website, they customize the length of the veil to measurements you give them, Barrons did not. Needless to say, when I picked mine up, I put it on and it looked too poufy and I hated it! The woman at barrons kept telling me that I could shorten it with bobby pins. So, I was determined to make it work. After I watched the demonstration videos on that website, I realized I was not putting the comb far enough to the back of my head, I was putting it on the top of my head...that made a huge difference, them I played around with bobby pinning the sides, so it wasnt so poofy.
The one thing, I am going to have to pay for another hair trial cause I want to make sure my hairdresser does it like I want it, because I emailed her and asked her if she had experience with birdcage veils and she didnt answer me directly, so I am thinking she doesnt. So more money for a hair trial, but I really have my heart set on this veil, so I am doing it.
