I have been on the pill since I was 20 (I am 27 now) and this last year I have not been getting my period...it has happened 3 times so far....I feel crampy but no...well.... anything else.
I called the doc he said that that happens when you are pill but it is fine....I am def. not pregnant... just wondering if this happens to anyone else.
I am not complaining...don't get me wrong....but it just doesn't seem right.

It has happened to me too...I think its normal. But just be grateful you didn't have your period for an entire month like I did last month. That was a JOY!

Re: birth control??
Hmmm...thats never happened to me and I've been on it for 11 years. But as long as your doc says its normal, then there shouldn't be too much to worry about!

Re: birth control??
maybe your pill is too strong? i know spotting is a sign it's too low bc it means there aren't enough hormones in your system and your body thinks it's time to, you know. maybe your levels are too high? i can't see that being a big deal though if it's not causing other problems (weight gain, changes in mood, etc.)
if you're really worried about it, you can always get a 2nd opinion.

Re: birth control??
Ive been on the same one for a little over two years now and from time to time i do have that problem. One month I got my period twice! The doctor says that various things can throw it off like working out, stress, weight loss or gain, sickness, etc. If it continues and it has you freaked out, I would ask to change your BC

I've been on it for like 3 years and that has never happened to me before. Though it can happen, that seems a little often to me. i would go to another Doc. to get a second opinion if I were you... its prob. nothing but I would do it just so I felt better/sure.

Re: birth control??
it's never happened to me, but maybe you might need a BC w/less hormones. I use ortho Tri cyclen LO which has low hormones.

i think you should let your body clean itself out once in a while no matter how gross and nasty it feels! There are many varying opinions among health professionals about this......do what makesyou feel comfrotable....

Re: birth control??
I am on bc too. I personally think stress can cause that but I'm no doctor! I have not had a period in December for like the last 3 years. It is always a stressful time for me because it is the end of a semester, the holidays, pretty much the birthdays of everyone I know, etc. It never fails. This past December I graduated and I skipped once again but got it the beginning of this month! I guess if the doc says it's ok, then it is, but like some other people said, you might want to get a 2nd opinion. I guess I should talk to my doc too!

Re: birth control??
that sounds nerve racking....ive been on the pill for 5 yrs. and have switched abt 3 times...what are you on now. i didnt do well on ortho lo, neither did a lot of my friends, but ive never not gotten my period..ive been having issues to, but with remembering to take it on time, this is a scary month for me! but if you went to the dr. and took pregnancy tests then go back and ask her/him to switch pills

Re: birth control??
I started on Estro step.....my old doc switched me to ortho tri cyclin and that messed me up....so I switched docs (I love my doc now) and he put me back on estro step...I love estro step....I feel like myself....no mood swings...pretty light periods but within the last year I skipped periods 3 times.
I do have an interview tomorrow but I don't feel stressed...I guess somewhere inside me I am so I guess that is it. Just wanted to see if anyone else had this happen. I trust my doc so I don't think I will get a second opinion or anything like that. Fh and I don't want kids and I don't want to be on bc pills forever.....he needs to get snipped!
