Re: birth control
I would say at least 2 months.. That's how long it took me to get used to the pill and how it *ahem* affects our lady parts. LOL

I would say the longer the better because sometimes you can break out as you are getting used to it and you don't want that added stress right before your wedding.

Re: birth control
In general, three months, but if you can start it earlier the better.

Re: birth control
I had the same question Beautyconsultantbk! My wedding is in five months but I plan to see my gyno in the next month.

Re: birth control
I'd say start is ASAP. Give your body a chance to get used to it and see if you have any side affects. It you do u always have time to change your pill if needed.

I have never gained weight on the pill and I've been on 3 different ones in the past 3 years. :)

Re: birth control
There are so many different kinds to choose from. One to help with your skin, one the claims to not make you gain weight. My suggestion is to aks your dr all of your questions and tell him/her your concerns and see what they recommend. I personally love the one I am on and I didn't break out or gain weight from it.
Good luck!

Re: birth control
Yes absolutely the sooner the better. BC wreaked havoc on my body and I am no longer on it... but then there was an adjustment coming off of it and I'd HATE for any of that to have been going on during my wedding.

Im a Women Health NP, and I agree with everyone else start as soon as possible. It usually takes 3 mons for the nausea, headaches, dizziness, BTB and other side effects to dissipate. Have you tried BC before? If you found one that has worked the best for you, continue to use it. If your sensitive to Estrogen try Lo Loestrin. It has the least estrogen in it.... im a WH nerd sorry. Take care

Re: birth control
I absolutely LOVE Jolessa!!!!! its the generic version of Seasonique. I was leery of only getting my period 4 times a year at first, however it has been such a blessing. I get severely depressed during and right before my period, so only getting it that often is a very big help.
