If you are on the pill, how exact does your timing have to be for it to work. I try to take it at 8pm everyday, but sometimes it is 8:30 or sometimes I'll take it early around 7:30. How much of a time window is there before the effectiveness is lessened?

Re: birth control question
It doesn't have to be that specific. I would say a two hour window is good. I;ve been on the pill for like 5 years. Sometimes I take it at 11 pm, on the weekends sometimes I take it at 2am and I have never had any problems

Re: birth control question
I was told to take it at the same time every day, so I do.
But one day I had a question regarding the timing of BC with International travel and spoke with the nurse at my Dr.'s office and she said its not that sentitive so take it at the same time of day - if in the morning take it in the morning.

Re: birth control question
My sister is a doctor, she told me you should really take it no later than 2 hours past the time you normally take it.

I always take it right before I go to bed whether that be 10pm or 2am. Never had any problems.

Re: birth control question
my doctor told me that the reason for taking it at the same time every day is to regulate when you get your period and that as long as you take it every day the effectiveness is pretty much the same.

Re: birth control question
During the week Im pretty good about taking it the same time in the AM. On weekends I take it as soon as I wake up, which is not exactly the same every weekend. No scares so far though

Re: birth control question
I don't know. My doc tells me to take it same time everyday so I set my phone alarm at 9am . So I take it that time. That would be my luck too.

Me too. I've also forgotten and just taken it in the morning.
