Re: Birth Control Question
i think....(don't quote me) you take it all the way through. you usually take a week off for the time you have 'it' but you would start your new pack then.double check me on that before you try it though

Re: Birth Control Question
You can skip the placebo and start a new pack. Many of my friends did it throughout college and were fine; however, I did it once (was going to DR as a graduation gift) and I actually had a really heavy period when the cycle end for 2 weeks. Luckily, I did it 2 months before my trip.

Re: Birth Control Question
if you continually take them without taking the placebo pills, you are able to hold it off for a while.

Re: Birth Control Question
instead of taking the placebo pills just immediately start your new pack! ive done it before and there is no problem. If you are doing it to make sure you dont have it on your wedding or honeymoon make sure you do it a few months in advance. Sometimes your next month can be a lot heavier because of it or you might spot during the month your skipping cause your body isn't used to it. Nothing happened to me but some of my friends had that issue.
it's so unfair guys dont have to worry about timing it just right with the wedding and all! grrr

Re: Birth Control Question
Definitely call your doctor
Last year I didn't want my period for NYE because we were renting a house with like 20 of our friends and I didn't know the bathroom arrangements. Well I didn't take the sugar pills and started the pack- it was fine for NYE- no period. But then in January I had my period for like 2 weeks. It was horrible, so definitely talk to your doctor first.

Re: Birth Control Question
I've done this before, and if I were you I'd 'practice' with it before trying it.
You skip the sugar pills in that last 'period' week, and go right onto the next pack. The problem I had was that I'm very sensitive to any hormonal changes and it made me feel like I had weeks of pms, cramping, irritability and break outs
Not everyone is sensitive to it though, so try it first
I tend to have bad pms, if you don't, it might work for you!
Good luck with the period skipping

Re: Birth Control Question
I skipped a month of the pills and started taking them again as soon as I was on my second day of my period. My Dr. reccomnds the skipping it once a year, to kind of let your body regulate itself. it helps I used to get it the first weekend in the month (the same as my wedding ) and now I'm the last weekend of the month
But definetly ask your Dr before you do it HTH

Re: Birth Control Question
well you can find many posts on here where i am saying ' just skip the sugar pills i have done it for months at a time and had no problems'
well, thats until now - i tried to skip for my vacation to italy i got it ANYWAY and then got it for the ENTIRE two weeks ( usually only get it for 3-4 days)
THEN i skipped my entire next month ( even tho i was taking the sugar pills) AND got me really nervous
so i would suggest going to the gyn even though i usually do this from May until October every year and sometimes in the winter too! but not anymore!!

Re: Birth Control Question
Thanks for all your help ladies. I already planned on calling my doctor but I was curious about the procedure. I am one of those unlucky brides that we get my period during my honeymoon
