BIRTH CONTROL QUESTION

I start taking pills as of tomorrow for the first time. Will this in any way change the date that my menstrual cycle starts?

Yes it usually does change but then it stays on the same cycle while your on it.

You're going to get your period sometime in the week of the last row of pills.

I have read some posts on here about starting another pack right after your first one ends to 'skip' your period. I've never tried it but from what I hear it works. You may want to do a search and check with your Dr.

I think that only works though if you've been on them for a while.

If this is your first time starting it you may not get your period right when you're suppose to. Sometimes it takes a couple of months to adjust.

You can not take the 'sugar pills' in the last week and just start a new pack instead. My Dr. told me to do this if I ever have a vacation or in this case the honeymoon and I don't want my period to ruin it. You don't HAVE to get your monthly friend every month. They have birth control out now where you only get it four times a year...

I don't know about the first month...but starting a new pack after the third week of the old pack (skipping the last week) is very safe - you can even do it for 6-12 months!!
