Im still a few weeks away from my 25th birthday and I've got the blues big time.
I know that many of you want to yell at me because why should I complain- 25 is young. I cant explain it- Im just bummed. The only brightside is a group of good friends are coming up to our ski house for the weekend so that will be fun.
Does anyone else not enjoy birthdays anymore???

Re: Birthday Blues
Well, since I'm going to be 42 in exactly one month, I'm having a hard time sympathizing.
Just kidding.
I understand how you feel. Age really is just a number and so people can be bummed about their birthday at ANY age ('young' or 'old'). In order to enjoy your birthday more, practice not letting your age define you, or your self-worth.
Every passing birthday means heaps and heaps more of blessings, not curses, so...make a list of all you're thankful for and all you're looking forward to. That might help.

Re: Birthday Blues
I understand what you're talking about a little bit. I'm a little depressed about 27 coming along in May because it means that I'm closer to 30. But it makes me feel better to know that I've accomplished what I have so far and I look forward to the future - my age doesn't matter so much.
If it's any consolation, my 25th birthday was my most fun one - I celebrated it for 3 weekends in a row. Try to do that - it'll definitely lift your spirits!

Well I asked DH for a huge party like Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton did on their 25th....he said sure 'It was called your WEDDING!!!!'
Maybe I'll go to a day spa and get pampered....he got me a gift certifcate for that one time and I enjoyed it immensely !!!

I felt that way around my 25th now that I think about it. But now that I am 35, I look back and realize that my life is so much more full now. There are so many things for you to look forward to. Your wedding, I am sure was fantastic, and you get to spend the rest of your life and create your own family with a wonderful person. That in and of itself is a blessing!

Re: Birthday Blues
I find after 30, you stop stressing so much - I remember freaking out the closer I got to 30, then I hit it - and i'm like - huh? thats it? What was I freaking about?
You are only old as you feel - I'm 32 and still go to punk shows and wear pink nail polish - FH is 42 and still skateboards all over the place - I have stopped worrying about my age - you'll see - you'll get there too!
ETA: I still enjoy my birthday - its on Nov 29th, and starting Nov 1, I start celebrating!!!
YAYYYY birthdays!!!

Birthday's are like any other day to me...except for kids. I will go all out celebrating my Niece's & Nephew's birthday, but for mine...eh...whatever.
BTW...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Re: Birthday Blues
Hey Jen! Sorry to hear you aren't excited about your birthday.
Is it possible you still have a touch of the post-wedding blues (delayed onset)? You came straight off the wedding and went right into the holidays.
Birthdays are great. I've had 31 and I think my last one was the best ever because I woke up next to my husband.
Keep your chin up, pamper yourself and drink a few margaritas.
My mother says, 'It isn't the number on my cake that scares me, it is the number on my bathroom scale.'

Re: Birthday Blues
My birthday is March 29th.
Im an Aries. Jennie...if you are an Aries too I will flip out! No wonder we chose so many of the same vendors lol
Im cheering up little by little. It might have been hormones bringing me down. My birthday will be what I make of it...I hate that it will be on a Wednesday and I have college so I cant even go out to dinner :( but I guess the point of my original post was remembering all the cool birthday parties we had a kids....noone throws you a skating party or a theme party when you get older.
I wonder if they make LOST paper plates and streamers!?!

Re: Birthday Blues
DH turns 25 in September and is also stressing about it. I still get excited about my birthdays... I know with each one i get a little closer to being more stable. Right now I'm at a time where everything is in limbo... I'll feel much better when Kev and I both have full time jobs, and we have a bit more of an idea of where we'll be living. I hate not knowing.
You can commersirate with my DH if you'd like - he gets all sad whenever the fact that he's turning 25 comes up.
