We are going to a birthday party for a 1 year old - Rob's friend's son!
What are some suggestions for a birthday gift? Do we get clothes, toys, or give $! I'm not sure what she has and the baby is kind of young for a big toys, right? So I'm not sure! Any ideas 'moms'!

A sit and spin. God I had SOOO much fun on those. Money is always safe. Gift certs to Toys R Us are great too... you are safe from getting the same thing as someone else or something they always have. Tonka Trucks. Anything to dig with or make a mess. Building Blocks.
Just some ideas.

Get a toy at Toys R' Us/ Babis R' Us they do have age group on them. They will give you a gift receipt so that way (just in case they have what you purchased) they can get anything they need/want. Or you can get a gift cert for either store.

Summer toys. Like the ride-on type toys, those are always winners. Also, Baby Einstein DVD's, kids love those.(JA watches them intently at 5months old, lol) and ToysRUs GC - I have to agree is also a good one. You can also do a combo of things...
Have fun !! Maybe you'll get the baby itch !!

We LOVE those Baby Einstein DVDs. I think a safe bet is a gift certificate to Toys R Us. I know we got a few and I used them not even so much for toys b/c he already had everything, but I used them for diapers, wipes, etc..

Anna ... I have the itch, but we are really not ready yet. I just hope you will all be here in a couple of years, when we do plan on TTC! You'll be on your second!

We have a 1st birthday party also to go to this weekend and I was just thinking about what to get...the Gift Cert to Toys-R-Us sounds good!!

How about a bunch of books? I've had 4 nieces and nephews all turn 1 in the past year or so and that's what I did for their bdays. Because any kid I know hardly need any toys and clothes can even be tough b/c kids are such different sizes sometimes it's hard to judge. It's never too early to give board books, my son is 5 months and he already loves to look at the pictures (and chew the edges) and they can grow into them as well.
