My dog loves to bite his nails..I am shocked by this..none of the other dogs i have ever had did this

Next time he does it i will take a pic of it he doesn't bite it off or even in half...he nibbles on it

Are you sure he isn't just licking in between his toes? It is really easy to get infections on their feet from excessive moisture from licking. I would ensure that his nails aren't too long or broken, that there isn't any redness or swelling, and no injuries. If dogs are allergic to things, one of the signs is paw licking, just FYI.
(can you tell we have a dog with foot troubles?)

no i am sure he is nipping at his nails...i hear it He doesn't really lick his paws that much at all

Have you had his nails cut recently? I've seen our old dog do this when her nails were a little long. HTH.
