Bitter Disappointment-Os for Breakfast

Bitter Disappointment-Os for Breakfast

I wake up this morning, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and manage to leave the house early! I stop at 7-11 for my morning cup o' joe and yogurt. It's not my usual 7-11 and the yogurt selection is smaller than what I am accustomed to. After not finding my favorite Dannon Mixed Berry, I see Peach and grab one. I enjoy peaches, this should be good, I tell myself.
I arrive at work, settle in, open up my yogurt and begin to mix it. After one bite I say to myself, 'Self, you don't like peaches. You like pears. Just because they share common letters does not make them the same fruit.'
So now I am forced to choke down this peach-flavored mess of yogurt and call it breakfast. I should have just gotten a Snickers.

The only redeeming factor is that I managed to find the perfectly round plastic spoons as opposed to the oblong plastic spoons. I really like the round spoons.

well, obviously.

round spoons? I like the oblong ones. I did just use my round measuring spoons for the first time last night & I like those, but they are funny looking.

I was going to say that I believe the sporks originated in Taco Bell!

I prefer oblong spoons also...I've always been a big soup eater and I've always favored a regular tea spoon over a soup spoon. It makes for slow eating, but I don't have to stretch my mouth as wide. It's a trade-off I guess

Liz, you should've gotten a spork so you could stab Slider with it when he comes in your cube!

What does Taco Bell have on the menu that would require a spoon? I also enjoy 7-11s straw-spoons for the Slurpees (stroons perhaps? spaws?)

I prefer teaspoons to soup spoons as well. The round spoon is a teaspoon and it is so reminiscent of a tiny shovel that I luuuuuuurve it!!!

like this:

it makes me mealtime seem more like an archealogical dig!

ETA: SPAWS!!!!

Taco Bell has always had sporks for as long as I can remember - we used to go all the time, and we're talking late 70's early 80's...so it was before any so-called Steak Tacos or chicken supremes...it was pretty much a taco or tostada and that was that! so, to answer your question, I think the spoon part of the spork was for the crumbly ground beef - YUM!

KFC (well, when it was Kentucky Fried Chicken ) always had sporks when I was a kid.

We also had them in school (so the early 70's) ...

I guess KFC had them for the mashed potatoes? I never understood why they didn't sell fries. But eating chicken would be so much easier with a regular fork?

I guess it's for the mashed ... but I would rather a spoon if I am eating a single serving so I can get every little bit ... the spork leaves some behind!!
