Black Bridesmaid Gowns?

Black Bridesmaid Gowns?

I have decided that I may want to use black for my bridesmaid gowns. The other color I liked is Plum (Nov. wedding) however, I am in 2 weddings where the dresses are this color. Both girls are in my wedding. Has anyone ever seen brides use black? I thought that we could get beautiful flowers that would really stand out with the dresses.

Also, I need a rehearsal dinner suggestion. My father will be bringing his girlfriend (who I never met and my sister hates) to the wedding. The rehearsal dinner will probably be the night before and everyone will be in hotels. This means she will have to come to the dinner. This may cause some conflict...What can I do to avoid conflict in this situation? Help!

I am having black bridesmaids gowns for my wedding next October. They are half black velvet and have a black silk bottom. They are carrying pale and hot pink roses.

I have been to many black and white weddings and they are very elegant!

Thank you everyone! I am even more excited about using the black dresses and 2 of my bridemaids have already expressed their excitement! This leaves me more freedom in my flower choices and it sounds like all of your weddings were/will be beautiful. Ohh I am so excited!

As for a rehearsal dinner update, I spoke with my father today and he will not be bringing his girlfriend. This was his choice. He believes it is unnecessary since none of us really know her and that it would just create too much tension in a confined space. She is not upset at all because she doesn't know anyone that will be there anyway.

I was also thinking of using Lavendar flowers. I didn't want the dresses that color because it will be November, but I love the color! Oh, your wedding is going to be beautiful..The black will really reflect the flowers!

Hi!!!
