Black & Decker Leaf Hog - love it!

I got DH a Black & Decker Leaf Hog since dealing with the leaves in the yard left us both exhausted with sore backs last year. We tried it yesterday and cleared almost the whole yard in under 4 hours. Last year we only got one side done in about the same amount of time.

The blower function worked great. The vacume/multcher was very good with one small drawback, but still worthwhile.

Under advisement that the attached collector bag fills fast, and needs to be frequently emptied, we got the attachment that feeds the shredded leaves direct to a trash can. The drawback is that the collection hood that fits over the can tended to pop off unless I was there to direct the air hose and support it's weight a little (wear goggles and a dust mask if you're doing this!) We lined the can with a leaf bag, attached the hood and hose, and let it rip. Took about 12 minutes to shred the leaves and fill the bag - what would have been easily 4 or 5 bags of leaves if we'd just left them whole and filled the bags by hand.

We may try getting a strap or bungee cord to help hold the hood on the can. In any event - it was a great success. Yard is clear, back doesn't hurt - yippee!

Karen, did you buy it from Sears, and how much did you pay (if you don''t mind sharing)? This is one of the power tools on Jeff''s Christmas list, and I have been wondering where to purchase it.

I got it at Home Depot. It was about $65 and the attachment to blow the shredded leaves right into the trash can ran another $20 I think.
