We are having a black and white themed wedding. Our invitation folders are black. If I do my inner envelopes white, I feel like the outer envelopes should be different somehow. I was originally planning on lining the outer envelopes, but I just saw black envelopes.
My question is, do you think it's too morbid looking?
We would write on the outer envelope with white ink.
What do you think?

I don't think so - you could do silver lining or writing! Are you having a sticker closing the envelope in white monogram???? that may help....

Not that it is the same, but we did black envelopes for our save the dates with a silver gel pen, and they looked BEAUTIFUL!

I'm not crazy about black envelopes....it's a bit too somber for a wedding, IMO. Also, I'm not sure who is doing your invites, but our designer specifically told us that she can't print on an envelope that's too dark. You may want to look into whether or not you'll be able to print on black...

In fact, I think they'll look classy and seem like they would fit right in with your theme.

Black might be more expensive to mail though... check your post office, for some reason I thought I heard that a while back. I could be wrong, but better to know up front I suppose HTH
