I love the look of black paper with white writing and a white envelope with a black border on the back. Does this seem too dark/depressing/goth to anyone? I am having a formal NYC wedding in May 2006. I know black invitations are not the norm, and I'm afraid people might think they are too 'dark' for a May wedding.
I love that look too!! My Bridal party will be in black and white also! FH though doesn't think it's for a Wedding invitation. If FH likes it...I say do it! I like that it isn't common!

I think it looks really elegant and formal. I would definitely do invitations like that if I end up having the wedding in NYC (where FH & I met)

My question about all of these types of invites is: how do people fill out dark colored rsvp's? I was looking at navy ones, and the rsvp's were navy too!

I love that idea. I actually just bought stuff to make my E-Party Invites in black, white, and silver and its in July. I think it will be fine as long as you include some white with black too. Maybe the response cards should be white with black accents.

Wintergirl - The rsvp cards are white with black writing, so guests will be able to write on them :)

I love them!!! my whole theme is black and white. I wish I would have seen them before I ordered mine. GO with it, they are very elegant

I absolutely LOVE that invite! If I was doing a NYC wedding where you are, I would definitely do that one! I love a colored invitation, especially a bold color.. but FH doesn't, so I have a year to convince him otherwise I just think they are so different and unique..... great choice!

i think your invite looks VERY tasteful! because of teh font it looks nothing goth related at all! i would love to recieve that in that mail!

I love reverse type. We had chocolate brown invitations with cream writing, and lots of people commented on how unique and elegant it was. Go for it!

It does seem kinda dark but very classy in the pic you posted. If you really love it then go for it, dare to be different!
