Re: Black Tie Optional
I just checked the invites on my fridge and they both say it on the bottom left hand corner of invite.

Re: Black Tie Optional
we're putting it on the invite itself. but our ceremony and reception are at the same place, so not sure how it works when you are getting married at a church.

Not all weddings, some people choose not to. If you would like a more formal wedding, it's safer to say it then not to, espcially if your wedding isn't an evening wedding. Also some poeple seem to think (I don't know why) that if you're not getting married on a Saturday then it isn't as formal (UMMM HELLO IT'S A WEDDING). Better to be safe then sorry and put it on.

Ours wasn't. I told all the women who asked me what to wear to wear sun dresses. We got married on a Saturday afternoon in July and it was a spring feeling (colors and decor-wise).
Just know if you put black tie optional, some women will wear ball gowns and some men will wear tuxes.
Of course, if you don't, some men will wear khaki's and polo shirts (although still probably not at night time).
I feel like way more people will wear black if you write black tie optional -- not sure why that is, but it seems to always happen.
