i would wear a long gown to a black tie affair....but thats my opinion...it needs to be fancy....you can wear a short cocktail gown but fancy.....with your eye for style you will have no problem finding something my dear!

I don't know about beaded, but if they went as far to request black tie I'd say probably floor length is expected.
