Black Tie Weddings

What would you wear to a black tie event. FH cousins wedding might be Black Tie (not optional). Do i have to wear a florr length dress?

you should wear a floor lenght dress.. that is typicall atire for black tie..

I have my cousins black tie wedding in June..we had this discussion at my house the other day and we all came to the decision that we had to wear a floor length gown. And this wedding is in Florida in the summer
its outside and inside. i'm going to die in a gown lol

If you want MY opinion - yes. Black tie = floor length gown. Although I've seen girls with cocktail dresses at black tie weddings. I don't think it's appropriate, honestly.

thanks girls, I am actullay thinking about wearing my bridesmaid dress from my friends this past october. It bill levkoff and I loved it and its brown but long and i alreday have shoes to match.
