fh's friend rang on saturday all pissed off b/c he booked with some lady that owns a vacation rental in nyc but then she turned around and 'screwed him over' and booked another person for the dates instead.
so i rang the lady up to find out what the hell was going on. turns out fh's friend was supposed to give her a fax number so she could fax him a rental agreement. he never gave her one. she said she wanted 50% down for the place and he said he would only give 25% down at first and then another 25% down after she mailed him the rental agreement. she was like 'no i said half' but she still was nice enough to hold the apartment for all of december WITHOUT a deposit and turned away another family waiting for him to send the deposit.
well what does this guy do but send her the 50% deposit IN CASH (american dollars) thank God she got it and no one stole the money in the meantime. (he sent it from Ireland) but she said he sent it too late (she waited for all of december she said to me) and then booked with someone else because they wanted the place too and had the money available and she was waiting for a month for fh's friend to send in his deposit. she said she waited until jan 1st. i mean what can she do she was afraid fh's friend was blowing her off himself. she said she gets inquiries all the time and that's why she sends out an agreement and asks for 50% down because half the time the inquirers turn out not to follow through with her.
so now he's all mad. hello. first off play by her rules buddy. if you don't have a fax then tell her. send in the 50% right away. i mean really.
so now I'M late for work b/c the lady was nice enough to find other accomodations for my friends and I wanted to ring them up myself to find out pricing and all that stuff. Tehn I had to call FH's friends and explain everything and give them all the other information.
If people could just FOLLOW DIRECTIONS this would not happen!!
