How far in advance should I block hotel rooms for out of town guest? I have 1 1/2 years - is it too early now?

Yes, they probably aren't accepting reservations for then right now. I just did it and my wedding is in just over 6 months...

Re: Blocking hotel rooms?
Hi- I had to block my rooms now because I am getting married on New Years Eve 2003. I think it depends on your date. If it is on a HOliday Weekend or special event, I would block rooms as soon as possible. Otherwise, i think you can wait awhile.

I also have done this. My wedding is 11 months away. By getting it done early you have a good chace of keeping all your guests on the same floor. Hope this helps

Most hotels will not accept reservations more than one year out.

Re: Blocking hotel rooms?
I just blocked off rooms and I'm 11 months away. I don't know if they'll be able to give you rates for over a year (New Year's Eve being the exception) Try it- the sooner the better though, maybe you'll get a better deal???

Re: Blocking hotel rooms?
Are the bride and groom supposed to pay for the rooms or just book them?

I would call them and see...if they take the reservation, that another thing to cross off your to do list!
